Avianca to begin direct flights between Miami and San Jose*

  • The airline is planning to operate 7 weekly flights starting on July 1 on Airbus A320 aircraft, with a 150-passenger capacity.
  • With this operation, Avianca strengthens its point to point connectivity between Florida and Costa Rica.

Miami, April 9th, 2021
Starting on July 1, Avianca will begin operating a Miami - San Jose* route, with 7 weekly flights on Airbus A320 aircraft, and more than 8,000 available seats per month. This operation is launched in conjunction with the airline’s announcement to offer direct flights between regional markets, as well as a simpler product making it more convenient for the client.

“We see this as an important opportunity to strengthen connectivity options for passengers traveling between Miami and Costa Rica, which leads us to initiate a direct operation between the two markets in July. This decision also responds to a recurring request from passengers”, said Rolando Damas, Managing Director for Avianca in North America & Asia. He also added that tickets are already available for sale on Avianca.com, MyAvianca mobile app, Avianca the Call Center, as well as travel agencies.
