Bogotá, December 15, 2022. Avianca, has completed a collaboration agreement with Civitatis, the leading company in the sale of guided tours and excursions in Spanish around the world. Following the signing of this alliance, which has been in the making for the past few months, Avianca will offer its customers the possibility of booking from the Spanish platform's catalog, which offers more than 75,000 tourist activities around the world.
This collaboration comes at a key moment for Avianca, which is immersed in a process of transformation of its business model and expansion through the creation of new routes and alliances. In this way, the world's second oldest airline also seeks to enhance the experience of its passengers, filling their trips with all kinds of tourist experiences, ranging from guided tours to day trips, airport transfers and entrance fees to monuments.
On Civitatis’ side, the agreement also comes at a very important time for the company. "2023 is full of challenges, but undoubtedly the most important and challenging one is to consolidate our brand in Latin America and make it expand to relevant markets such as Colombia, Ecuador, Central America, Mexico and Argentina," says Alberto Gutiérrez, CEO and Founder of Civitatis. The Spanish businessman, in fact, states that by 2023 they aspire to "triple our current business in Latin America".

Thus, the alliance between Civitatis and Avianca aims to reach macroeconomic dimensions, strengthening the connection between Latin America and Europe in terms of tourism. Not surprisingly, destinations such as Madrid, Barcelona or London have been the favorite destinations for Colombians in 2022, according to Civitatis internal statistics. European cities where Avianca has direct routes from Colombia.
Now that Avianca will offer its passengers the possibility to book Civitatis activities, they will be able to complete their trip by booking, for example, a free tour of Madrid, a boat ride on the Seine or a Harry Potter tour at Warner Studios.
