Avianca Airlines Bets on the Extraordinary: Top Colombian Airline Proudly Partners with Miami Dolphins

  • The Latin American airline announced today a multi-year partnership with the Miami Dolphins as part of its involvement strategy in sports initiatives throughout the Americas.
  • Avianca hosted a press conference joined by Avianca and Miami Dolphins executives at the Miami International Airport.
  • Avianca currently operates more than 60 flights per week from Florida through Miami, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale airports.

Miami, May 22, 2023.  Avianca Airlines, one of the leading airlines in Latin America, announced today a new multi-year partnership with the Miami Dolphins. The three-year partnership announcement was made at a press conference held at Miami International Airport featuring executes from both organizations.

The partnership gives Avianca prominent branding on in-stadium LED ribbon boards and score clock branding at Miami Dolphins home games at Hard Rock Stadium. Additionally, Avianca will host game day plaza activations and game entitlement for select away games. For fans, there will also be activities and contests where they can win tickets to games and live the experience and passion of football.

Colombia: 

  • Run Tour Avianca: Colombia's flagship race to promote running and sports and contribute to the community since 2013.
  • Colombian Soccer Federation (FCF): In 2014, signed the first agreement with Avianca to transport the team to the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014, becoming the official airline of the Colombian National Team that year.
  • “Te prometo” campaign: In 2015, promoted and provided transportation to the Colombian national team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia qualifiers.
  • Livery and “Orgulloso Siempre” campaign: Throughout 2016, the airline wore a livery in tribute to Colombia's third place finish in the Copa America Centenario and also launched the "Orgulloso Siempre" campaign in support of the Colombian national team in the Copa America Centenario.
  • “Corazones que lo dan todo” campaign: launched in 2018, during the FIFA World Cup in Russia for the national soccer team.
  • In 2022, supported the Colombian national soccer team during the qualifying process for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
  • “La Leyenda del Dorado” mountain bike race: sponsored race in 2018.
  • Female America Cup COMEBOL: In 2022, became the official airline of the competition and supported the Colombian team participating in the tournament, which was runner-up.

Costa Rica: 

  • Central America & Caribbean Games: Was a gold sponsor in San Jose in 2013.
  • Costa Rica national soccer team: In 2017, the airline became a new sponsor of the Costa Rican national team and actively supported the team during the FIFA World Cup in 2018.

El Salvador: 

  • El Salvador Olympic Committee: In 2017, Avianca was the official airline of the committee
  • Surf City: In 2022, Avianca and the Government of El Salvador unveiled the Surf City plane, with a livery dedicated to the government's coastal zone development project to boost the country as a world-class surfing destination.

Other: 

  • Support for athletes during the pandemic: in 2020, Avianca transported more than 150 high-performance athletes so that they could meet their competition schedules.
