For Avianca, First Flight From Montreal to Bogotá

  • Starting today, the company will offer four weekly frequencies with more than 1,200 seats available per week on its Airbus A320 aircraft.

  • In December 2021, Avianca announced its arrival in Canada by inaugurating routes from Bogotá and San Salvador to Toronto.

MONTREAL, April 1, 2024—With the takeoff of flight AV201 from Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport in Montreal, bound for El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, Avianca Airlines officially made its first flight to its second and new destination in Canada, which joins Toronto. This destination is number 76 in its global network.

“In December 2021, we committed to connecting Latin America with Canada by inaugurating our routes from Bogotá and San Salvador to Toronto,”  said Ana María Copete, director of commercial development at Avianca. “ Today, a little more than two years have passed, and more than 415,000 passengers have flown with us on nearly 3,200 flights. Thanks to the great reception of this operation and the joint work with airports and authorities, our first flight takes off on the Montreal-Bogotá route, an incredible opportunity to continue promoting tourism, business and new opportunities between our entire region and Canada.” 

The airline will offer its customers four weekly frequencies operated on Airbus A320 aircraft, which can accommodate 180 passengers. It will have more than 1,200 seats per week to connect Montreal and Bogotá.
