Bogotá, January 2, 2024. Avianca was recognized by Cirium's ranking as the most punctual airline in the world in 2023. This category measures airlines that have daily operations on at least three regions.
This milestone was achieved thanks to the work and dedication of the more than 14,000 people who are part of the Avianca team, as well as the support and coordinated work with allies, suppliers, and authorities in the different countries where the company operates.
During 2023, the airline maintained an average On-Time Performance (OTP) index of 85.73%, with 213,039 flights measured by Cirium, in its network of 75 destinations across 25 countries in America and Europe.
This is the first time that a Colombian airline has ranked as the most punctual in the world, leading the global ranking ahead of airlines such as Qatar Airways, Delta Air Lines, Iberia, Latam Airlines, and American Airlines, among many others.
The company achieved this result within the framework of its business model transformation and after implementing various improvement plans, such as focusing on real-time operational indicators, collaborative network design, improving coordination capabilities at the control center, and better coordination between teams, among others.

Avianca consolidated its position as a punctuality leader in 2023, after ranking sixth in Cirium's global ranking in 2022 with an OTP of 83.48%. During 2023, Avianca ranked first in the months of May, June, August, and September, and consistently ranked in the top 5 between February and October.
It is worth noting that this result was achieved in a year in which Avianca increased its number of routes, from 129 in 2022 to 146 in 2023, ending the year with around 32.3 million passengers transported. Additionally, the airline significantly improved its baggage incident rate, reducing it from 2.24 incidents per 1,000 passengers in 2022 to 1.58 in 2023. Furthermore, there was a noteworthy reduction in the average response time in customer service channels, which dropped to less than 2 minutes in 2023, coupled with a remarkable 97% resolution of requests on first contact.
