Avianca announces the new direct route between Bogotá and Chicago

  • The airline announced that from October 27 it will offer seven weekly flights between the two cities.
  • The flights will be operated on A320 aircraft with capacity for 180 passengers, and a total offer of more than 2,500 seats per week.

Bogotá, July 9, 2024. Avianca announced the launch of sales of the direct route that will connect Bogotá with a new destination, Chicago, starting on October 27.

The airline operated flights between El Dorado International Airport and O'Hare International Airport from 2018 to 2019, and has resumed operations on this route five years later, with seven weekly flights. The flights will be operated on A320 aircraft with capacity for 180 passengers for a weekly offer of more than 2,500 seats.

The return of this route will strengthen connectivity between the Americas, allowing millions of travelers in South America, Central America, the Caribbean and even Europe to connect with the Windy City through Bogotá.

"Avianca continue to focus on providing our passengers with more routes and new destinations around the world. After landing in Montreal and Paris this year, we are now announcing the launch of the Bogotá-Chicago route, with which we are consolidating an interesting network that allows our travelers to connect with more than 10 destinations in the United States, and also facilitates the arrival of new visitors to Colombia and the Americas. More than 10 destinations to fly to the United States:

Avianca already operates flights to twelve destinations in the US and Chicago will become the thirteenth destination of the network of destinations that connect its passengers to: Boston, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Washington, Houston, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, Miami, Ontario, San Francisco and, starting on October, Chicago.

Currently, Avianca's passengers can choose from a network of 150 routes connecting 75 destinations in 25 countries in America and Europe.
