Flight changes

For basic, light, and classic fares, changes are allowed before flight departure, but the following additional charges apply: 

• Change fee: additional charge generated by voluntary changes made to the ticket (only for basic, light, and classic fares).

• Fare difference: corresponds to the price difference between the ticket you initially purchased and the new option you are choosing (applies to all fares).
• Differences generated by taxes: they apply according to the regulations in force in each country.
  For flex and business fares, changes are allowed before flight departure without a change fee, but fare differences and taxes may apply.
  
  

Seats

• Keep in mind that the maximum recline of Business Class seats may vary depending on the type of aircraft.
• Business Class seat, Business Class (Flatbed), or Premium (depending on the type of aircraft operating the route) are included with the business fare with all their benefits.
• Plus: included and subject to availability when purchasing the flex fare.
• On some of our planes, we only have Economy seats.
  
  

Check-in

If you are traveling from Havana, you must complete and finalize the check-in process at the airport. This process is required by local authorities and has no additional cost.

Refunds

• Applies to flex and business fares, before the flight.
• Refunds after the flight are not allowed on any fare, except for operational events.
• The refund condition applies to the value paid for the fare. Taxes will be refunded in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.
• Our fares (basic, light, and classic), except business, are promotional fares.
• From June 1, 2023, additional services will be refundable if you request it together with the refund of your ticket, applies if your fare is flex or business.
• Unused additional services due to airline's fault will be refundable for all fares.
• For more information on the right of withdrawal, cancellation and other laws depending on the country, please refer to our Help Center.
• You are required to use all segments of your itinerary according to the flight plan you purchased. You cannot stay in the connecting city without continuing to your destination. If you decide not to complete your itinerary, we will consider that you have completed the journey from the origin to the final scheduled destination, and you will not be entitled to a refund for the unused segments, except for the applicable taxes and fees for those segments.

Priority Service

The business fare includes priority check-in, priority baggage claim and priority boarding.

Onboard service

• On some of our flights, onboard sales service is not available. 
• The INSIGNIA by avianca experience in Business Class applies only to flights between El Salvador or Colombia and Europe.

lifemiles accrual

• The fare price used for mileage calculation does not include taxes, fees or additional services.
• Mile accrual applies only if your flight is operated by avianca.
