Arauca-Quibdó October 23, 2024. In line with its commitment to continue connecting Colombia and its regions, Avianca, a national brand of Colombia, announced the launch of two new routes connecting Arauca and Quibdó to Bogotá and from there to more than 75 destinations in 25 countries around the world. These are two historic operations that will be added to the company's route network, the most comprehensive in Colombia and one of the largest in Latin America.
Starting December 9, Avianca customers will have four weekly flights between Arauca's Santiago Perez Quiroz Airport and Bogotá's El Dorado International Airport, with a total of 1,440 seats available per week.
Starting December 10, travelers will have three weekly flights available between El Caraño Airport in Quibdó and El Dorado in Bogotá, with a total capacity of 1,080 weekly seats available.
"This year we have consolidated the largest network in our history and are transporting the largest number of passengers in our 105 years of flying. We continue to be excited about reaching new destinations and connecting those territories that most need air transport, because we know that this is where the challenge lies. With these new routes, we will be flying to the four corners of Colombia: San Andrés, Leticia, Quibdó and Arauca, the latter being the most easterly point we will fly to," said Frederico Pedreira, CEO of Avianca.
"The growth of regional connectivity is key to the country's economic and tourism development. With the new air route between Bogotá and Arauca, air transport continues to bring Colombians and the world closer to the wonders that this region offers, promoting opportunities and strengthening our presence in the national territory," added Sergio París, director of the Civil Aeronautics of Colombia.
Today, Avianca is the only airline that connects the country all year round, without interruption, with 40 domestic routes, from North to South, from San Andres to Leticia, and from West to East, from Ipiales to Valledupar, allowing millions of Colombians and tourists to discover the richness of Colombia's culture and nature.
With the inauguration of these new routes, Avianca customers can now fly to 25 domestic destinations throughout the country and to more than 75 destinations in more than 25 countries in the Americas and Europe.
Sustainability is today and is with the regions:
As part of its social strategy, Avianca has defined the importance of impacting the most vulnerable regions of Colombia, understanding that an aircraft is also a tool that transforms communities and allows dignified and quality access to services such as health and humanitarian aid. For this reason, Avianca supports social organizations that, due to their experience, provide comprehensive medical brigades and priority basic care in these areas.
Flying to destinations such as Chocó and Arauca is also important for the dignified care of the population. The airline will continue to expand its social impact and prioritize territories where there are diverse opportunities for development and well-being.
